Ode to the Champions

Who are these people--
These doers of deeds,
These dreamers of
dreams
Who make us believe?
Who are these people
Who still win the
day--
When the odds are
against them
And strength fades
away?
These people are
champions,
For they never give
in.
A heart beats within
them
That is destined
to win.
They follow their
dreams
Through the journey
seems far,
From the top of
a mountain
They reach out to
a star.
And when they have
touched it--
When their journey
is done--
They give to us
hope
From the victories
they won.
So here's to the
champions--
To all their great
deeds.
They follow their
hearts
And become winners
indeed.

times when you feel troubled -
when
happiness is gone -
look
to the heart within you
for
the strength to carry on.
In
the heart you will find virtues
such
as faith and hope and love.
Gifts
that have been sent you
from
a power up above.
It
is faith that keeps on searching
for
the joy the soul hopes for.
It
is love that heals the spirit
making
it stronger than before.
And
should your heart be broken -
if
your strength should fade away -
the
power of these virtues
will
still win out the day.
So
remember when you're troubled -
when
happiness is gone -
look

The Person That Is Me

If ever you should
meet me -
the image you may
see -
is just a mere reflection
of the person that
is me.
The person I am really
-
the one down deep
inside -
is made of many
feelings
which I sometimes
try to hide.
Feelings of doubt
& worry -
wondering how I
will fit in.
Feelings of hope
& longing -
that someday I might
win.
Feelings of frustration
-
for answers I don't
know.
Feelings for my
loved ones -
relationships that
grow.
Feelings of loss
& loneliness -
of memories left
behind.
Feelings of excitement
-
for what I have
yet to find.
So remember when
you meet me
the image you may
see
is just a mere reflection
of the person that
is me.
