August 30 - CR says...

"Hi I know that you don't know me or anything but, I am doing a report on suicide and I stumbled across "JaredStory"  I just felt like I should say I was very sorry and hope this will add some comfort to your grief.  After I got done reading everything I felt like I had known him and I wish I would have had a chance. But once again I am very sorry.  My wishes are with you always."

August 27 - Hayley says...

"Hey, I was reading Jared's story and it just stopped.  Does it keep going? I'm so touched with it so far, I'd love to hear the rest." (There will be more... stay tuned!)

August 23 - Josie says...

"Hi Jared's mom, I stumbled upon this page by searching for a recipe for mud cake.   I have read almost the whole story.   I live in Phoenix also.   Just wanted to say that my prayers will be with you and am so very happy you were able to create such a fantastic web site in honor of you son and in hopes that it will help someone.  I am glad I was able to meet Jared.  I  know you miss him tremendously, but know that he is with you always!  God Bless!"

August 17 - Nancy says...

"Hello, My name is Nancy and I have visited this wonderful and informative site.  I am a member of a club called *Nspired.  We are trying to help people with an awareness page that is part of our site.  I would really like to make the information contained in this site to our visitors that maybe contemplating suicide.  Would you mind if I put a link on my page to your page in the hopes of saving someone.  Could you please respond and let me know if this is all right with you." (Great!)

July 22 - 'DeadPoet' says...

"CRY NO MORE BABE.  SAY TO ME THE LOVE OF LIFE STILL LIVES.  SING THAT SONG THAT MAKES U SMILE.  LET UR SMILE SHINE FORGET THOSE THOUGHTS, I AM HERE TO HOLD U.  SEE ME NOT AS THE INVADER BUT THE  CARE GIVER THE LOVER.  SEE NOT THE DARKNESS AND FORGIVE THE TRESPASS. SEE THE SHADOWS FADE AND HAPPINESS WILL STRIVE. DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE LIVE FOR U AND FOR ME.  LOVE HE FOR I WILL I SHALL. TO DIE WITHOUT ME LEAVE ME NO LONGER. SEE NO MORE FAULT SEE THIS TEAR HEAR YOUR CRY, LISTEN TO ME. THE LULLABY WILL FALL WITH ITS CRADLE BED.  I WILL NOT LET GO OF UR HAND AND WILL FOREVER HOLD U DEAR."

July 18 - Kim says...

"Hi... I really admire what you did when you created that web site. Reading about your son's life made me cry and smile at the same time. It's good that he will always be remembered and it's comforting too. I really don't know how to comment other than that. I just want to say I think what you did is wonderful."

July 13 - "vmim1" says...

"tears are shed
heads are bowed
thoughts running through and through
your son hears your prayers now.

though time was short
and a smile didn't last
memories will remain
of a boy who went so fast."

July 11 - Darlene says...

"I want to tell you that I was touched by your dedication to your son Jared.  He sounded like a remarkable little boy.  I am currently pregnant with my first child and if the doctors are right, it is a little boy.  I am so very excited about his arrival and I pray that I am honored to have the same kind of memories that you have of Jared as he grows older.  I cannot fathom the pain that you and your family have endured from such a tragedy but I admire your strength for sharing your memories of him with others.  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and in my prayers.  Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you."

June 19 - Tim says...

"Though we are of differing religious backgrounds, I come to you as a brother in Christ to thank you for doing what you do for this web page.  I stumbled upon it by accident, but feel that it was by the hand of God.   ...this story has made take a look at how I communicate with others.  It has taught me that I can not assume that any one person knows I care.  As a minister of youth, this page for your son has inspired me to warn of this and that we should be desperate to show love and kindness whenever we can.  What you are doing is being used by God to help people like me and other families like yours to take a good look at the reality of topics like suicide among others.  I truly hope and pray that people will see this and have the same response I have had, that is to try and share in the responsibility of teaching others about things of this nature.    I want to take this opportunity to ask your permission to use your web page's material to teach in my youth groups of now or future. (permission given)  I feel that some of the comments of friends and family along with his life story will be a great way to show kids really how fragile life is.  The lessons taught by your tragedy can and will be used in honoring and glorifying God the Father.  I just want to humbly ask permission.  ...I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers even though time has past since Jared's death.  I can't attempt to comprehend the pain, but I do recognize it and know that the void is still their. - CHRloveIST - Jacksonville, Tx."

June 16 - Tessa says...

"Hello, my name is Tessa. I am 10 years old. On this night I am spending the night at my grandma's house. Earlier I had just noticed for the first time that my grandmother wasn't going to be around forever. I know this might sound stupid but it's true. I called my mom up the street and talked to her about it. I said I loved my grandma just like I loved my mom.  And it's true. My mom and grandmother are the most cherished people in my life. I'm not embarrassed to say that I'm crying while writing this email.  But please give me some tips on how to deal with losing with an almost gone loved one. Thank you for your cooperation and patience to read this.  Thinking of you and Jared always, Tessa"
and later - June 22... "Hi, It's me again. Thanx for all the info.  I think It'll come in handy in a couple days."

"Your website is beautifully done. I believe that your son would be very proud to know how much his mom loves him. My heart goes out to you for the loss of your son. Thank you for having the courage and strength to share your son's story with others. I am sure that your website has educated many persons and has saved many lives. I was able to use the information about the SPAN network to complete an assignment for one of my social work classes. The time and effort that you have spent creating this website is greatly appreciated."
